The Silver Spring Library is looking for dedicated Blazers to help younger students grades K to 8. Volunteers are needed Thursdays starting at 4:00. The first Homework Help is Thursday, October 5. For more information, see Ms. Lamphier or email Ms. Lauren Martino at the Silver Spring Library. Volunteers will receive SSL hours.
Book, magazine, and audiobooks can be checked out and for three weeks. Overdue notices are sent to the first-period teacher.
Please ask your child if they have any overdue materials!
Many of our core English books are now available in audio format. Your child should stop into the Media Center to find out what titles are available. Audiobooks are available as CDs, digital downloads (we provide Kindle) and PlayAways. If students will need to borrow a media center Kindle, their parent or guardian must first sign a form accepting financial responsibility.
Montgomery County Public Schools has also provided students access to some books on Overdrive. Ask the media center staff for more information on using Overdrive.
Are you preparing for these tests? Free online prep is available from Triumph College and Blair's subscription to Testing and Education Reference Center.
Need assistance with Testing and Education Reference Center? Contact the Media Center Staff.
Have an IPhone? Download free Gale apps from ITunes and Google Play to access Gale Databases and ebooks from your phone! All you need to do is authenticate with your Gale password (check the inside cover of your student planbook or get a password sheet from the Media Center) and you're ready to go.
